Dan Zwilling, PhD
I created Zwilling Athletica and Pain Free Movement to help people move better, feel better, and stay active through a practical combination of mobility work, movement coaching, fitness training, and hands-on pain relief approaches.
My background is a little different from the typical trainer or stretch practitioner. Professionally, I’ve spent years working in neuroscience drug discovery research, where clear thinking, problem-solving, and an evidence-based mindset are central to the work. Through Andrews Zwilling Consulting, I bring experience in scientific strategy, project leadership, and translational research support in biotech and drug discovery.
Coaching That Combines Strength, Movement & Long-Term Wellbeing
At Zwilling Athletica, the focus is on helping people move better, feel stronger, and stay active for life. Every coaching programme is tailored to the individual, combining evidence-based strength training with movement assessment, mobility work, and practical techniques designed to improve comfort, confidence, and performance.
Whether your goal is to reduce muscular tension, improve flexibility, build strength, or better understand how your body moves, every session is designed around your needs—not a one-size-fits-all programme.
Professional Qualifications
I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) with additional training in mobility, pain relief, and hands-on movement methods, including Liebscher & Bracht techniques.
My approach combines recognised fitness qualifications with years of practical experience studying movement, helping clients build strength while improving the way their bodies function.
A Lifetime of Studying Movement
Movement has been a lifelong passion.
Alongside my coaching career, I have spent many years training in martial arts, developing a deep understanding of body mechanics, coordination, posture, balance, and efficient movement.
Martial Arts Experience
EWTO (European Wing Tsun Organization) – Wing Tsun Kung Fu
2nd Technician
Level 4 Trainer
ZXD / I Liq Chuan
Student Level 4
Teacher Level 1
This combination of martial arts and coaching has shaped a practical approach that focuses on movement quality, body awareness, and long-term physical resilience.
My Coaching Philosophy
Zwilling Athletica was created by bringing together four complementary disciplines:
âś“ Structured, analytical thinking
âś“ Evidence-based strength and fitness coaching
âś“ Lifelong movement practice and education
âś“ Hands-on techniques that help reduce muscular tension and improve movement
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or performance, the goal is to help clients move more efficiently, build resilience, and create lasting improvements.
How I Can Help
Coaching is ideal for people who want to:
Improve mobility and flexibility
Reduce muscular tension
Move with less discomfort
Build strength with better movement quality

Every Session Is Personalised
No two clients move the same, which is why every session is tailored to your goals and current movement patterns.
Depending on your needs, sessions may include:
Movement assessment
Corrective exercise
Strength and fitness coaching
Assisted stretching
Mobility training
Body positioning techniques
Osteopressure-informed methods
Home exercise guidance
Supporting Long-Term Progress
Lasting results come from more than temporary relief.
My approach combines immediate improvements in movement and comfort with long-term strategies that help you become stronger, move more efficiently, and develop habits that support lifelong health and performance.
The aim isn't simply to help you feel better after a session—it's to help you continue feeling better long after you leave.
